Summer camps now in session!

The PMA is hosting a series of unique and exciting summer camps for children beginning June 7th.  This summer, let your children showcase their creativity and express themselves at the Museum!  The camps include exclusive tours of current exhibitions, a bit of art history (with a focus on important players, subject matter and technique), a variety of distinct lessons and fun art projects in various media.   • Open to ages 6-12
  • Cost for each camp is $75 for members and $90 for non-members
  • Camps are held Monday through Friday from 9am - 12pm
  • Mid-morning snack provided
  • each camp will culminate in a group exhibition with a reception for friends and family
  • Registration for all six camps is ongoing!

Camp Dates:

Camp 4 - July 19-23    " Monkey Business, Part 2 "   The Monkey King: A Story from China

  • Explore the interactive children's exhibition from the Children's Museum of Manhattan!
  • Follow the unlikely hero, "Monkey", on his mischievous journey through China.
  • Discover the rich and varied culture and traditions of China through games, playing acting, and hands-on activities.
  • Build floating "dragon" boats! Design and construct paper lanterns! Create animated "flip books" and MORE!
  • "Monkey Business, Parts 1, 2 , & 3" will feature lessons, activities and themes exclusive to each week. Participation in each, while encouraged, is NOT required.

Camp 5 - August 2-6     "Around the World in a Week!"   PMA's Traveling Art Trunks

  • Explore the diversity and beauty of a variety of cultures and customs from all over the globe, past and present!
  • Analyze fun and unique artifacts, textiles and artworks from around the world.
  • Create your own beautiful works of art inspired by the traditions of Native America, Africa, Australia, Greece, Spain, Japan, Norway, Latin America and MORE!
  • Learn secrets from guest instructors of various heritages!
  • Create an original masterpiece to be displayed in the PMA's Student Gallery.

Camp 6 - August 16-20    " Monkey Business, Part 3"   The Monkey King: A Story from China

  • Explore the interactive children's exhibition from the Children's Museum of Manhattan!
  • Follow the unlikely hero, "Monkey" , on his mischievous journey through China.
  • Discover the rich and varied culture and traditions of China through games, play acting, and hands-on activities!
  • Design and create character figurines! Build a Buddha sculpture!
  • "Monkey Business, Parts 1, 2, & 3" will feature lessons, activities and themes exclusive to each week. Participation in each, while encouraged , is NOT required.
